According to wildlife officials, 16 leopards have been killed by humans in Azad Kashmir in the last six months.
The animal attacked two people with minor injuries.
The people stoned the leopard to death.
Haitian Bala: Residents of Haitian Bala area of Azad Kashmir killed a panther when the creature entered the local area in search of its "next prey".
According to a Geo News report, residents of the area gathered on Tuesday morning when they heard screams from people on their lungs. When asked about the commotion among the residents, it was revealed that several families had seen a panther roaming between the houses, "in search of their next prey".
The creature attacked two people, inflicting minor injuries. Nevertheless, in retaliation, the locals started throwing stones at him. The creature went through an extreme death.
As soon as the report was received, the officials of the office of Natural Life rushed to the spot and recorded evidence against two persons for killing the animal. Panther's body has been sent to Muzaffarabad for autopsy.
Two weeks ago, a female panther was shot and damaged by residents in the Neelum Valley, after which the creature succumbed to its injuries.
As pointed out by Lavars Life officials, 16 panthers have been killed by people in Azad Kashmir in the last one and a half years.
