PSL 2022: Lahore Qalandars rout Islamabad United by eight runs

Notwithstanding their solid execution, Islamabad captain Shadab Khan, Colin Munro neglected to get success for their group

     KARACHI: Lahore Qalandars defeated Islamabad United by eight runs in a thrilling match 12 of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) at the National Stadium in Karachi on Saturday.

Despite their strong performance, Islamabad skipper Shadab Khan and Colin Munro failed to secure a win for their team against Qalandars.

Shadab played a commander's knock by crushing 50 off 29 conveyances. Nonetheless, he needed to return to the structure after scoring 52 runs from 32 balls with two fours and four sixes. The batsman was excused by Rashid Khan.

Prior, his deadly spell destroyed Lahore Qalandars' batting line-up. He stowed four wickets and surrendered only 20 runs in his four-over spell.

Captain Shaheen Afridi drew first blood for his group when he excused Alex Hales in the third over of the innings. 

Colin Munro was the top scorer for his group as he made 60 runs from 45 balls with five fours and three sixes.

Prior, Lahore Qalandars gave a 175-run focus to Islamabad United in the twelfth match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) at the National Stadium in Karachi.

Joined's bowlers obliterated the center request of Lahore Qalandars as they lost three critical wickets in the last over confining the players to 174.

Joined's captain Shadab Khan drew first blood for his group after bowling out Abdullah Shafique in the eighth over of the match.

Shadab Khan and Waqas Masood took four scalps each.
